J. Giménez and A. Griezmann settled the score at home against RB Leipzig

Atlético Madrid claimed the win in the game against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Thursday. The team won 2-1 at Estadio Civitas Metropolitano.

Atlético Madrid equalised to make it 1-1 after almost half an hour's play as A. Griezmann found the net, with an assist by Marcos Llorente.

The deciding goal came in extra time, when J. Giménez scored for Atlético Madrid, with an assist by A. Griezmann, to complete Atlético Madrid's come back.

Atlético Madrid play Benfica on 2 October, LOSC Lille on 23 October and Paris Saint Germain (away) on 6 November. RB Leipzig's next opponents are Juventus on 2 October, Liverpool on 23 October and Celtic (away) on 5 November.

The result leaves Atlético Madrid in 12th place, while RB Leipzig are in 25th place.
